Hello. My name is Jennifer Kerr. I have been teaching at Barksdale Elementary since August of 2007. I am so excited to embark on a new journey this year! I am originally from Florida where I taught first grade for two and a half years at a small charter school. I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. I am married to my husband Nathan who works as a technical support analyst in Brentwood, TN. We hope to have a family someday that we can raise here in Clarksville. I am so happy to be a part of the Barksdale family. I look forward to working with my students and their families as we begin the new school year.

Welcome to Barksdale!

I am so excited to start a new year in Kindergarten! I hope to see all my new Bengals at Back to School Night Friday, August 3, from 5 to 7pm.

Some important Back to School Information for kindergarten students:

  1. Aug 6th - Kindergarten students report to school at 9am WITH their parents. There will be a short informational meeting to go over school and class information with parents. Students will leave with parents after meetings conclude.
  2. Aug 7th - No School for students.
  3. Aug 8th - Aug 14th - Kindergarten students will ONLY report to school on their assigned testing days. This will allow students and teacher the time to get to know one another in small groups and become acquainted with school rules, routines, and procedures.
  4. Aug 15th - All kindergarten students report to school full time as a complete class.
