¡Hola! My name is Karyme Valencia. I am delighted to teach Spanish Immersion here at Barksdale Elementary School. I was born and raised in Nogales, Arizona a small border town next to Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. I attended the University of Arizona and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education: Special Education and Rehabilitation (K-12). I then attended Grand Canyon University and earned a Master’s in Early Childhood Education in 2020. This will be my 8th year teaching and my first year at Barksdale.
