Welcome to Barksdale and 4th grade! I have taught at CMCSS since 2003. In that time, I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. I have also served as a title teacher working with grades K-5. My current position is a 4th grade reading/language arts and social studies teacher. I look forward to working with students to help them further achieve to reach their highest potential. On a personal note, I grew up in Kentucky and moved here in 1999. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Austin Peay State University in 2002 and my Master's of Arts in Education from Cumberland University in 2007. In addition, I finished work on my doctorate at Lipscomb University in December 2015. I aspire to one day work at the university level with college students who want to be educators. I have been married for 21 years. Allen and I have one daughter, Kailey, who is in 7th grade this year. I also have two cats, Precious and Lakota. As a family, we love to travel and watch movies together.
