My name is Kayce Susong and I am delighted to be your child's kindergarten teacher. I am a native of Clarksville, having attended Barksdale as a student myself. I graduated with honors from Austin Peay for both my undergraduate degree in 2006 and my master's degree in reading in 2020. This is my 16th year to teach and I am really enjoying the experience. My husband Adam and I have two sons and a daughter who have all been proud to wear the Bengal blue and orange colors! I look forward to working with you and your child this year. I would like to thank you in advance for investing your time and energy in your child's education. Together we will help your child learn and grow.

This year I am pleased to introduce to you our kindergarten teacher residents, Kadijah Nelson and Kelly Anderson. In addition to serving as educational assistants at Barksdale, they are earning their master's degrees from Lipscomb University in K-5 education and Special Education. We are blessed to have their support this year in our class as they work on earning their teaching licenses. Please feel free to contact all of us this year through Class Dojo or our school email addresses.

Hello everyone! My name is Kadijah Nelson and I cannot express how excited I am to work with you and your children! I received my bachelors degree in Social Work in 2018 from Tennessee State University. I am newly married and I am also new to Clarksville. Before Barksdale, I worked as a preschool teacher in Nashville. I’m looking forward to meeting and getting to know your little ones.

Thank you in advance for welcoming me to the Barksdale community!
